It all started in the late spring of 2005 when Matt learned of a girl named Linda. Figuring he should give it a chance, he contacted her and set up a blind date at BJ's Brewery. Their first date would probably last only 30 minutes, or so Linda thought. She told herself that she would just go in, meet this guy and continue on with her life. Cupid, however, had alternative plans. Linda didn't just stay 30 minutes, instead she and Matt chatted the night away and "30 minutes" turned into 3 hours. Each left feeling aglow with intrigue and excitement in their hearts and the definite awareness that they must see each other again, as soon as possible.

In the days following that first encounter, Linda and Matt got to know one another better, each realizing how much they had in common and how easily they made each other laugh. Time flew like a whirlwind and before they could catch their breaths, a year had passed and both Matt and Linda knew they had found THE ONE.

They continued to spend time together and let love work its way out and on
Christmas morning, 2006, Matt asked Linda to be his wife. She happily accepted without any reservations, elated with the realization that she was going to marry her best friend.

One of the many things we wanted for our wedding is to pay attention to the details. From our cake toppers (bobble heads custom designed to look like us), the custom logo for our wedding that was found all throughout the stationary and at the reception, to the wedding newspaper custom designed detailing information about the bridal party, events, trivia to put in our out of town bags (40% of our guests were from out of town). We pushed the envelope to delight the senses of our guests, from the cigar bar, candy buffet, wine tasting bar, champagne and chocolates as favors, as well as shawls that were provided for guests due to the outdoor evening reception. On top of having a wedding website, we also put together a wedding planning blog detailing all the adventures from getting our wedding license, picking out the sites to our custom inviations.

On the day of our wedding, rain drizzled the streets and everything was so crisp. By the time we got to the church, I dashed into the Chapel to avoid a bit of the rain. Once the ceremony was over, we walked out as husband and wife and the clouds parted. Between the ceremony and the reception, the bridal party took photos at CSU Channel Islands. The reception cocktail hour started at 4pm and within the hour, a rainbow appeared. Dinner was amazing! DJ’s Catering took care of every last detail. The evening was filled with dancing under the stars, amazing wine, and lots of laughter!

OUT of TOWN bags:

This included water (with personalized waterbottle labels we made), snacks, and newspaper for the weekend.

The Grapevine Wedding Weekend Newspaper (was part of all the Out of Town Bags):

We made a newspaper incorporating information about the event, news of the honeymoon, stories about the bridal party and two articles written by both the Maid of Honor and Best Man. We also added fun facts about us as well as puzzles and word games to keep them entertained.

Stickers for the OOT bags:

We ordered stickers with images from our engagement photo session, vineyards, and the church we were getting married in and placed them on the bags to incorporate the entire event.

Wedding Party Newsletter:

To keep our wedding party up to date of the latest information pertaining attire and events going on, rather than telling them verbally, we created a newsletter with all their information so they can get in touch with each other if need be. We also included a "homework assignment" survey we asked each of them to fill out. We later used it at the rehearsal dinner to embarrass them and made for a great keepsake for us!
