Rush Lambda Chi

We love Rush!

Rush week is a time for interested men and women to explore Greek row and get a feel for the organizations on campus. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha would love to have you stop by the house, grab some free food and meet the brothers. Oh yeah, we don't haze!

We just remodeled our Chapter Room!

We recently installed new hardwood flooring, refinished the Cross and Crescent, added brand new couches, and a Plasma TV. We are currently budgeting to expand our deck! Come and check it all out. You are welcome anytime!

Formal is always a fun time!

This year we held our formal at Captain Quarter's, a marina on the Ohio River. We took out their yacht and enjoyed a night of cruising, dancing, and tradition.

Dear potential brother,

By enrolling at the University of Louisville, you have taken the first REAL step in the journey of the rest of your life. High school is over, and the old, everyday routine is out the window. New experiences, fresh faces, and endless opportunities await you, both scholastically and socially. This is your chance to set yourself apart from all the rest, forge headfirst through the gauntlet that is college life, and arise victoriously, diploma in one hand, and a steadfast grasp on your future with the other. In the end, you prove to your friends, family, yourself, and everyone from here on out what kind of man you’ve grown to be. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha congratulate you on your exceptional choice in life, and want to offer you another extremely beneficial opportunity.

Since our chartering at the University of Louisville in 1948, over 1,000 Lambda Chi’s have walked the campus grounds, studied throughout the halls, and played on its fields. They lived, learned, and loved their years here, and have generously given back to the university with such contributions as the improved Ekstrom Library, Dougherty Hall, the university’s Army and Air Force ROTC building, and the Houchens Building, where the Financial Aid and Bursar’s offices are located. And we as an active chapter strive to uphold the same sense of community that our forefathers held so highly. Through the years, Lambda Chi Alpha members have worked within the Student Activities programs, showed our Cardinal spirit at numerous sporting events, and even served as teaching assistants in various departments.

With many of our members recently graduated and moving on in the world, we are constantly searching for fresh young minds and ideals to replenish this fraternity to what its known best for…a strong brotherhood of quality and quantity. I, myself, will be graduating in a couple of years, and I want to see this fraternity passed on to the men of the new millennium who foster ideals in leadership, education, and higher standards. This fraternity promotes its values through several innovative programs. With our Associate Member program, we stray away from the barbaric rituals of pledging and hazing, and focus on building strong character and qualities real gentleman are known for best. When you associate with Lambda Chi, you are considered an equal with the same rights and privileges as any active member, you participate on the same sports teams, attend the same social events, have a say in everyday fraternity affairs, and are never treated like a second-class brother.

Lambda Chi Alpha has many programs that also take a leading role in preparing you for your life after college. One of these programs is the Joseph Charles Mentorship Program, which pairs you with alumni in your current field of study to offer career and other post-graduate advice and opportunities. This is the largest program of its kind and has more than 2,000 participants to date. The second is the Impact Leadership Program, which offers you a four-part program that gives you real-world leadership skills. Currently, 80% of Fortune 500 Company C.E.O.’s have completed this program or programs similar, crediting their success to the knowledge they learned from them. Some leaders are born, others are made, but all can benefit from encouragement and reward. The True Brother Initiative, launched in 2007, has revolutionized the member development process for Lambda Chi Alpha. Developed after years of research, True Brother incorporates the lessons of the US Army’s Army Values character development program into 3 distinct circles: Inner, Outer, and Mastery. Through these circles of teaching, associate, active, and alumni brothers respectively continue to develop as leaders and men while following the ideal of perpetual growth.

Once again, the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha welcome you to this upstanding university and wish you the best of luck in your future here. I invite you to get to know the brothers of Lambda Chi during Spring Rush Week, dates to be set. Rush is open to any interested parties, and I encourage you to attend. We will be located at our house on Greek Row across from the Speed Art Museum. If you cannot attend Rush, or you want to meet some of the brothers before Rush starts, we have plenty of activities for you to attend. Feel free to contact us anytime by phone at (724) 413-4375, or by email at e0metz01@louisville.edu. Myself, and the rest of the brothers look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Eric Metzger

We have a great relationship with our Alumni.

We appreciate everything our Alumni do for us. Our chapter recently shared dinner with the Alumni out on Bardstown Road. We enjoyed some barbecue while watching the Cards!
