Hello! My name is Lorena Nava Ruggero and this website is a constantly evolving portfolio of my work. It's also a way of sharing with the world all that I do. I'm a native San Diegan, proud Aztec, editor of new media, writer, multimedia content producer, reviewer, blogger, grad student, lecturer and public relations professional. Learn more about me here and, if you like, connect with me on Twitter, Facebook and/or LinkedIn.

While I occasionally blog for the official SDSU blog as part of my full-time job as editor of new media for San Diego State University, I also write reviews of manga, or Japanese graphic novels, at MangaCast, There it is, Plain as Daylight and at my blog, i ♥ manga. I'm also currently accepting freelance writing assignments in a variety of areas, including pop culture, food, literature and San Diego area activities and events.

My Latest Project

In this 1 minute, 30-second audio slideshow from Oct. 16, 2009, I recorded audio of speeches and took photographs during the annual War Memorial Ceremony at San Diego State University. The multimedia piece accompanies an article written by my colleague, Tobin Vaughn.

The piece features ambient sound from the event, as well as quotes from two speakers -- SDSU President Stephen L. Weber and former California governor Pete Wilson.

You can watch archived videos and other multimedia content on the SDSU YouTube channel.
