Hi I'm a 54 year old man and I guess Ive seen everything and done about everything. A few things I'm not proud of, but hey, no one's perfect. What I'm trying to say is I've got a lot of life experience, and gained a lot of knowledge and information that I would like to share with you. I enjoy learning, now more than ever, and continue to do research in many areas, and it is my desire to share this knowledge with you. I will continue to add pages to my site containing information that I believe will be valuable to many of my readers, and continue to improve the content of those pages as I find more information. A little about myself. I grew up in a big, somewhat dysfunctional family, having five brothers and four sisters. I now have about forty nieces and nephews, three children of my own and two grand children. My family had to struggle financially and I learned a lot of valuable things from that experience. I graduated High School in 1972 and shortly took a job at an electro plating company, where I stayed until I got bored and took other jobs, mostly in construction, roofing, brick laying (hod carrier), remodeling, interior and exterior painting. I even built several garages and additions with my brothers. During this time I owned a 1966 wimbledon white Mustang with a 200 straight 6 engine, a black 1965 Mustang that my brother put a 302 v8 engine, and Hurst "T" shifter and 4 spd transmission in, and a metalic bronze 1967 Mustang Fastback with a 289 v8 engine that if you floored it and popped the clutch, it would just sit there and white smoke would come from the tires. I also owned an orange Triumph TR7, a sweet little two seater sport car, not all at the same time. In 1976 at 23 years old I enlisted in the U. S. Navy, and took with me the bad habit of frequent and excessive alcohol consumption. Somewhere in the first year I learned to get this under control, which I attribute that success, mainly to the rigid but necessary demands of Navy taught dicepline, and my desire to be successful. Basic training and basic electricity and electronics school lasted a total of about a year at the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes Illinois. From there I went to my first duty station as an Electronics Technician Third Class Petty Officer, in Stockton California, a Naval Communications Center. In the heart of the San Joaquin Valley, the weather was perfect, the base was small, there wasn't a lot of sailors that lived on the base, and I normally had the Gym all to my self. I started a workout routine at the Gym, started jogging around the base, bought various health, fitness, and nutrition books, and came to enjoy having it as part of my lifestyle, and continued as much as possible after leaving that duty station. I met my first wife on the base in Stockton, she was a Radioman and we worked together. We were able to be stationed together at our next duty station in Yokosuka Japan, and had a little apartment off base which allowed us to enjoy much of the Japanese culture. I was on a ship away from home,a lot,and saw her a total of 40 days the first year we were married, and this put a strain on our marriage. We never had children and divorced when my enlistment was up. I had difficulty adjusting to civilian life and some of the distractions in my now larger family, and after about a year, reenlisted, receiving a nice reenlistment bonus, and took my new wife and child with me back to Japan to serve a four year enlistment for a total of ten years, where we also had two more wonderful children.. In Japan I learned a lot of their language, customs and culture and it was a great experience. The ships I was on stopped in many exotic places, such as, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Korea. We spent many consecutive days in the Indian Ocean doing Operations. The last year of my enlistment I spent in Long Beach California near San Diego. While there, drove cross country 2400 miles home to Cincinnati Ohio and back, more than once, enjoying the sites, sometimes stopping to get a better look. I went to Las Vegas twice Tijuana Mexico a few times, and a few other places. After my enlistment, I came back to Cincinnati to settle down worked in the electronics industry for a while, decided I wanted more freedom and decided to develop my own roofing business which I enjoyed much success for many years. As I got older I decided I needed something a little less complicated and physically demanding and took a job as a CNC machine operator, working with amazingly accurate $250,000 computer programed horizontal lathes , and have enjoyed this very much, but now I would like to do something else. I've learned a lot from my Navy experience, from the hundreds of people I've met, from the different languages, customs and cultures I've been exposed to,and from reading and researching. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others, especially when I believe it is valuable and is teaching something that will improve the quality of the lives of others, even if I don't see it. I hope that some of my pages will be helpful and interesting to you and you will continue to use my site as a source of help.
