My Favorite Things

This was a "must" page for me.
We all tend to do multi things and here are some of my favorites.

I am a beekeeper and absolutely love these little critters. Here is a link to my blog about my bees.

Now for a rather odd love.  I love mantrailing Bloodhounds.
I own two wonderful Bloodhounds and love to trail them with my kids as the victims. They are great dogs.
Here is a picture of my wonderful dogs.

Another, I raise exotic birds and share my home with lots!!!

I'm also a Level 1 Aviculturist with the AFA.

I own and love a Sulcata Tortoise and yes he has his own house and enclosed yard.

Below is a picture of my sweet Todd. I did not buy this tortoise and do not promote the buying of these animals as pets. I adopted him through a reptile rescue. These are large tortoises and do not make good pets even though they are wonderful animals. Pets are something that you keep in your home and a tortoise that can reach the size of 200lbs has no business being a pet. They are the 3rd largest in the world and they don't make a fish tank that can support a Sulcata.

During the winter Todd spends his time in his house with heaters and mercury lights. The electric company loves me!! During the summer he free roams a large enclosed part of my yard. He grazes on all types of grasses planted just for him and even has had the pleasure of digging himself a real burrow...just like a wild tortoise.

Todd weighs in at almost 40lbs.

If you want to learn more about Sulcatas here is a wonderful link
