Content:
We'll be exploring musical concepts through musical play, movement, singing, reading, and listening, focusing on the basic elements of music. Because a child's musical learning and development can be amplified greatly by music in the home, a focus of these classes is on activities that can be replicated at home.
Basic literacy concepts will be introduced, such as left to right directionality and that symbols have meaning. Children will also learn about how to interact with their peers through musical games.

Class format:
  1. Exploration/Discovery - musical instruments and games will be available for your child to explore, giving them a chance to become familiar with the environment at their own pace.
  2. Circle Time - the children will gather to learn about music, and any or all of the following will be included:
    • Singing
    • Basic notation
    • Musical Stories
    • Music games/singing games
    • Listening
    • Nursery Rhymes
    • Instruments

Parent Attendance:
At this age most children will participate better without a parent present. However, every child is different, and a parent or relative is welcome to attend with the child if necessary. Parents who wish to stay, but not participate, are welcome to visit in another area of my house.
