We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses. Around 285,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year in the UK. At Cancer Research UK we are working hard to improve our understanding of cancer and develop better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease. More than one in three of us will develop cancer at some point in our lives. Many of us have lost someone to it. We all want cures to be found Our research has been at the heart of the progress that has seen survival rates for cancer double in the last 30 years.
