Well after a lot of deliberation I have decided to go down the Vintage Chevy 350 route, this is because I have become rather attached to an unusual inlet manifoId that allows you to hook up DCO Webers to the SBC 350.
To run webers on a SBC it really helps if its before the 75 IVA emissions date, then it only requires a visual smoke test. Why I hear you ask DCO Webers well a cross ram intake will make it interesting and DCO's were used on some of the Chevy engines in T70's. Plus be easier for me to tune as I am familiar with them etc. This a 3970010 1973 Block
4 Bolt Mains
Standard bore but will require 030 Pistons
Dipped and crack tested
Slightly unusual it has the high Nickel and Tin
Casting numbers 010 & 020
This is a pic of an original Lola crossram setup, I think I will go with an hydraulic cam as setting the tappets on that setup looks fun.
I am going to use four Weber 50 DCO SP I have a set but am always interested in more, specifically ones marked 8D. I have ended up doing quite a bit of research on block castings and stamped numbers on the Small Block Chevy 350's.
I am always on the lookout for older pre 1975 engine blocks and as such I may be interested in buying an old SBC 350 or 400. Use the other projects link on the front page to find contact details.
