Laura was born and raised in a small town in Illinois and taught herself to sew on her  mothers old black Singer sewing machine.  Unfortunately, that old sewing machine is lost and long gone but not Laura's love for vintage textiles and quilts.

Laura has lived all over the world accompanying her husband on his work assignments while raising three children.  All that moving (19 times) has given her the opportunity to meet many quilters, explore different styles of quilting and vintage textiles.
