Who is LAFMA ? We are the

Logan & Albert Fish Management Association

We are a Native Fish Stocking Association that has evolved from the original group of concerned anglers who formed Carpbusters 20 years ago. Our aim as it was then, as it is now, to try and eradicate the noxious Carp from our local waterways. To restore the balance by stocking native fish and by improving their habitat.

Our Motto:
"Restoring the Balance"

Where are we?
South east Queensland, The Rathdowney Beaudesert area, known as the Scenic Rim.

Logan & Albert Fish Management Association

Creating a Recreational Fishery for the
Logan and Albert Rivers including Wyaralong Dam
by Stocking
Mary River Cod
supported by Australian Bass & Saratoga

Our Basic Aims:

Stocking Natives.

We have just began our 2011 season. By stocking 120,000 bass fingerlings into the streams and rivers of the area.

Since 1998 a total of 700,000 Bass and 40,000 Mary river cod have been released into the Logan and Albert river systems.

Carp Removal:

Since 1997 and the first Carp Eradication Competitions, 10 tonne of carp has been removed and over $75,000 dollars have been raised to purchase fingerlings for our native fish stocking program.

Wyaralong Dam Project.

LAFMA now has a permit from Fisheries Queensland to stock Wyaralong Dam with native fish species to include Australian Bass, Mary River Cod and Saratoga.

Original Carpbusters

During the last twenty years the original Carpbusters Inc has developed from holding Carp Eradication competitions in 1997, to the current aim , which is to eradicate carp by stocking with Native species.  Money raised from these competitions and other fund raising efforts have been used to purchase native fingerlings and stock the Logan & Albert river systems.

We are now known as LAFMA
