My trip to Passau in 2006 included a day trip to the Czech Republic, thanks to my host, Eddy Scheepers, who came all the way from Belgium to Munich to pick me up and then spent a week with me at Passau, But first, Georg Höltl, owner of the Passau Museum, invited us to visit his Bavarian theme park in Tittling, 20 minutes away from Passau. Next to a stupendous Bavarian restaurant and Beer Hall, Höltl has reconstructed a typical Bavarian village with old historical wood buildings he has acquired and transported to the park. But not too many people know that he bought the original Loetz factory structure and placed it there! We approached it with due reverence. These are some of the photographs Eddy took. That orange blurb is me, entering the Loetz factory building .View of the left side as you enter Höltl showing me glass instruments and pictures of the Von Spauns |
