Revell Pilots and Ground Crew 1/72

Not an aircraft subject, but aircraft related, I finally got around to buying this set whilst at the Romford MAFVA show. You get twelve seated aircrew, seven standing aircrew and six ground crew standing/kneeling. The quality of the sculpting and moulding is outstanding. There are a few mould lines, but these should take seconds to remove with the edge of a sharp blade.

As seen in the photo you get separate limbs, torsos and in some cases heads, so there is plenty of scope for variation in posing the figures. The box art and painting guide on the back of the box provide plenty of information on colours, although variation in RAF attire is considerable. The sprue is in rigid polystyrene so there should be no problems with applying paint.

Modellers have been requesting a set like this for some time, well Revell have delivered in spades. It's my understanding that the Luftwaffe set is re-release of the old Preiser tooling and whilst not as good as this one it is still worth acquiring if you're looking for supplementary figures. Now Revell, how about a WWII USAAF set?

Highly recommended.
