August 2011 Regrettably richc is no longer able to manage these web pages and so has handed back the reins to me. Thanks to Rich for looking after things. In true PB style I have sat back and done nowt for some time, but feeling a tad guilty about this situation I have decided to extract a digit and do a bit of updating. If you haven't seen the recent Model of the Month winners, go check the pages for April, May and June. The events diary is also updated. I have to confess that due to an oversight on my part we will not now be attending the IPMS Avon show as exhibitors, but nonetheless I would commend this event as a very worthwhile day out. Just to remind you it is held at the Yate Leisure Centre, Kennedy Way, Yate, South Gloucestershire, BS37 4DQ. Ta ta for now PB April 2011 Today a link has been added on the website that takes you to the for sale section on L&C directly. To PM anybody if you are interested, you must register, but it's now quicker to have a look and see what goodies are for sale. It's not limited to kits either, but a quick PM to a Mod is worthwhile just to make sure what you want to sell is acceptable. Hopefully the recent show at Cosford demonstrated that we are a friendly bunch, and as usual a cracking display was organised. So why not join in and become part of the regular displays that L&C will be attending throughout the year. Cheers for now. P.S the MotM for March will be announced soon, and I can tell you it's a cracker. Also some changes are coming to the monthly competition which will be announced in short order, so stay tuned. January 2011 Well, we are into the new year, and we've already seen some amazing models. We seem to be getting a lot more traffic through thanks to Vince's link on his site. This is great, and L&C is gradually growing. This year our secretary jen would really like Group Builds to take off. Check out the new ones planned on the forum. You will see that we will run concurrent GB's, and some may be longer than normally seen. How about joining in the Spitfire anniversary GB. It is running until December, giving you plenty of time to find a kit and build at a leisurely pace. You'll find us out and about at many shows this year, culminating with the nationals at Telford. This year L&C is going to be themed, and that theme is "Film Stars". This gives an almost limitless choice of subjects, and has been well received by the members. So if you fancy joining in, sign up on the forum, and start building for November! I hope to bump into some of you at Yeovilton this Saturday. richc December 2010 You will probably have noticed that we have now changed the Locate and Cement logo. It is felt that this new one is a far more polished product, even though the original had done stirling service promoting the IPMS branch of L&C. Keep a look out for the new logo on our tables and T-Shirts(hopefully) in the new year. There have been a few other notable changes along the way. Recently Mike Reeves of Two Mike sResin in the USA approached L&C and said he would like to support the Model of the Month competition, currently sponsored by Vince at Modelsforsale. With Vinces blessing this was accepted. So the lucky winner will now get a winners plaque to hang on the wall, along with a kit generously donated by Vince. We now also have another new sponsor in the form of Paul from ABC models in Crewe. Paul will be sponsoring the Group builds. the exact details of how this will work are yet to be worked out, but as soon as I know I'll post the way the sponsorship will work. Finally, thanks to Vince, who has supported us for some time, plus Paul and Mike who are new on board. We look forward to your continued support in the coming years as L&C continues to grow. Happy Christmas everybody, and a Happy New Year for 2011. richc |
