Process
The Local Wisdom process involves documenting the stories of way we use clothes, through image and word, of volunteer members of the public. Photo shoots are advertised in local press, news agents' windows, community notice boards and within established local networks. We are looking for garments that: - Make for easy repair
- Are shared between people
- Are enjoying a third, fourth or fifth life
- Are worn the same in different situations
- Catch your attention each time you wear them
- Show or tell the story of how they have been
used
- Are worn in ways that defy the producer’s values
- Are worn regularly and have never been washed
(and aren’t leather!)
- Are made up of interchangeable pieces that can
be worn in different ways
- Connect us to others
- Are worn in response to changing economic and
environmental concerns
