Week 6

I went on vacation for a week. It was nice to have a break. However, when I returned there was a bunch of stuff that needed to be completed. In particular we decided to hire Sam for Sophie's project. We had him and Katherine, come into the studio to be captured. They did a variety of motions for Sophie, where they were interacting with each other. They greeted each other at an airport, and had a couples spat in a kitchen, as well as Sam's computer froze on him. All of these motions will be rather hard to clean considering there are two characters in contact with each other. Laurel and Mo also had Sam act as if he were a flower that came to life, and captured the motion he produced. They needed this motion for another project they are working on, involving using human motion to animate inanimate objects, such as in movies like Beauty and the Beast, and Alice in Wonderland.
For Sophie's project I am working on modeling an office for her. This will be used in the scene where the computer crashes. Seeing as Sophie wants the viewer to be focusing on the hands of the character, the rest of the scene needs to look as realistic as possible. Therefore I created a desk, computer, keyboard, and chair. But what is most important is the other extra stuff around the office. Very rarely is there an empty office. Therefore I have been creating other objects, such as picture frames, markers, books, lamps, and water bottles. This will help fill up the office to make it seem more plausible.
Kate also came down to the lab again to recapture her Wii data. Hopefully she has fixed the bugs in the wii controllers and the larger capture space will allow for more movement.
