              So What?

Alcohol use in teens is a growing problem in Illinois and the United States. "Everyday 11,318 twevle to twenty year olds try alcohol for the first time," (http://marininstitute.org). It’s important we start acting on the problem before it’s too late. Teens are being killed or injured in accidents because they were drinking, or even worse are hurting innocent people. Alcohol abuse is increasing in ages 14-21, so are we just going to let it get to a point where it’s to bad to do anything? I hope not, because the children of today are the future and if this continues there will be no future! Plus teenage drinking is illegal. So why hasn’t it stop? It’s because teenage drinking doesn’t get punished with penalties harsh enough to make anyone stop! I deeply care about this topic because I worry about my safety and the safety of others
