Tong Liu was born in 1977 in Zhengzhou, a major city in central China. At the age of 17, he was admitted by Harbin Institute of Technology and received B.E.(1999) and M.E.(2001) degrees in Material Manufacturing Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology. Since then, he went to Hong Kong and got his Ph.D. degree in December 2005 in Department of Automation and Computer-Aided Engineering (now renamed to Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, under the instruction of Professor Michael Yu Wang. Now he is a Research Associate in MAE Department, CUHK, with Professor Zhiyang Yao.
He has experiences in many areas of robotics, including multi-body dynamics and simulation; planning, analysis, and simulation of workpiece fixturing; robotic offling planning and CAD.
