Introduction

The Little House series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, tell the story of her  life as a pioneer in the late 1800s. The books tell the adventures of Laura's family as they lived in Wisconsin, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and Missouri. The story of her husband Almanzo's childhood in New York State is also told.

Why this page?

There are millions of websites available on the Little House books. There are also countless books and other printed materials. This page tries to introduce students to some of the best items available.

The electronic materials are especially useful because they can be updated easily with any new information and can accessed from any location, regardless of time of day.

In choosing the materials to include, I looked for those that were up-to-date and from dependable sources. I also looked for materials that would be attractive to upper elementary aged students.
