Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring
Volunteers are trained using Hoosier Riverwatch techniques.
To find out how you can get this free training, go to www.Riverwatch.IN.gov.

We are monitoring ten sites throughout the watershed
every other month for two years - until August 2010.

The ten locations are marked on the following map. If you would like to help,
contact Noell Krughoff, Project Coordinator, nkrughoff@gmail.com.

River Clean Up Events
Our last clean up was at Kennedy Park in Shelbyville during May 2009.
If you know of a site that needs clean up work contact the project coordinator,
Noell Krughoff, at nkrughoff@gmail.com.

Field Days and Educational Events
An important part of the watershed grant is to provide public education about
ways to protect and improve water quality. A recent event was the State Road 44 Conservation Tour on September 3rd at Rush Shelby Energy near Manilla, Indiana. Picture from the event can be seen here.

Classroom/Student Education
The Rush and Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation Districts have educators
who present lessons on a variety of conservation topics – including water quality.
These educators work in both traditional and non-traditional classroom settings.
