There are three types of "parenthesises" on this site, and they are not used in the traditional way here. Below are the explanations of the three types and there use: 

Also, English doesn’t use hyphens the way it's done here. It’s only to show you that the two- or three words that have been linked together actually translate as one compund word in Swedish. There was a time when Swedes wrote out the words separately, at least with hyphens between them. It was tought even in the nineties. But it has changed very quickly the recent years, and the language has been made more effective. Now we just skip the space completely!
