I have been working on the project of License Plate Recognition (LPR) Sytem for the past semester under the guidance of Professor Hong Zhu at Xi'an University of Technology.

The purpose of LPR system is to automatically locate the plate in surveillance images and eventually recognize it. An LPR system can be typically devided into three modules: plate location, character segmentation and character recognition (or OCR). 

Below is the location and segmentation result of the system I developed.
