Often, I use graphics from the Friend magazine in my visual aids for Primary. The quality isn't usually very good, so I clean them up first. I thought I would post them here so others can use them. The magazine states "Text and visual material in the Friend may be copied for incidental, noncommercial Church or Home use." Which File Type Should I Download? Most likely, you will want to download the .wmf, .emf, or .eps files. Also, depending on your browser, you may be able to view the .svg files by clicking on the link. Download using Internet ExplorerRight-click on filename/link Click Save Target As Choose a location on your computer where you will be able to find the image Download using Mozilla FirefoxRight-click on filename/link Click Save Link As Choose a location on your computer where you will be able to find the image Inserting Graphics with Microsoft WordInside your word document: Click where you want to insert the picture. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click From File. Locate the picture you want to insert. (This is the location where you chose to save the graphic earlier.) Double-click the picture you want to insert. Note: By default, Microsoft Word embeds pictures in a document. You can reduce the size of a file by linking a picture (in the Insert Picture dialog box, click the arrow next to Insert, and then click Link to File). Inserting Graphics with OpenOffice.orgSame as Microsoft Word, above. Other StuffMany of these images are in color, but they should be easy to change to black and white using a vector image editor. I use Inkscape for the .svg files and OpenOffice Draw for the .wmf and .emf files. Apparently, .emf/.wmf files don't handle gradients very well, and some of these graphics contain gradients. They all look fine using OpenOffice on Linux, but I can't vouch for how they look with Word on Windows machines. Let me know how these pictures work out for you!
