I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Linguistics at UC Santa Cruz. My main research interest is formal phonology, including the {syntax, morphology, phonetics}-phonology interfaces. My work to date has focused on word-level prosodic structure, as well as the phonology of Irish (broadly construed). I have a growing interest in laboratory phonology, particularly ultrasound and artificial grammar methodologies. I have also conducted research on the Mayan languages Tz'utujil, Kaqchikel, and Uspanteko (the latter two with Robert Henderson). I occasionally moonlight as a syntactician, especially when anaphor binding and DP-internal syntax are involved. More detailed descriptions of my work, along with some papers and handouts, can be found in the Research section. |
