I am an Assistant Professor in the MCIS department at Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama where I teach courses in Software Engineering, Fundamentals of Computing (Python), and Introduction to Technology.  I am a graduate (May 2009) of the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in Information Systems. I have also earned an MSE from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

My dissertation research, conducted under the advisement of Dr. Starr Roxanne Hiltz, investigates issues of leadership and trust in partially distributed software development teams. A partially distributed team is a hybrid team which has at least two collocated subgroups that are geographically separated and communicate with each other primarily by electronic media. Partially distributed teams present many challenges for leaders, such as mitigating in-group/out-group effects that can result from having distributed collocated subgroups.   I also conduct research in the emergency management domain.

In these pages you can learn more about my research interests, my teaching philosophy, and my experience and education.
