Tutorials for Limberdog Photoshop Templates We have tutorials for PICTURE PLACEMENT FONT CUSTOMIZATION CUSTOMIZATION OF DESIGN ELEMENTS IMAGE BORDER CUSTOMIZATION CHANGING IMAGE SPACE SIZE/SHAPE USING YOUR LAB’S TEMPLATES PICTURE PLACEMENT 1. Open your Limberdog template, do a “save as” if you haven’t already done so. 2. Open the image you plan to use in the template. 3. Select All, then Copy. 4. On the template, click on the Image Layer in the layers palette. 5. Click on the shape in the Image Layer in the layers palette using “Apple-Click” (Control-Click). this will give you the “marching ants” on the template. 6. Keystroke “Shift-Apple-V” (Shift-Control-V) to paste your image into the Image shape. Do NOT drag your image into the template. This is a PASTE INTO command, which creates a mask on the template. 7. Free Transform your image into desired crop within the shape. “Apple-T” (Control-T). Be sure to hold the shift key down when you are dragging corners to constrain proportions. “Enter” (Return) when you are done. 8. Repeat for other images if necessary. FONT CUSTOMIZATION 1. Open your Limberdog template, do a “save as” if you haven’t already done so. 2. Click on the Text Layer in the layers palette. 3. Click on the “T” in the box on the Text Layer. This will select the font in the template. 4. To change the style or size of the font: Use the appropriate drop down menu in the font tool bar. 5. To change the color of the font: In the font tool bar, click on the color box. This will bring up the color picker, where you can choose your new color. CUSTOMIZATION OF DESIGN ELEMENTS 1. Open your Limberdog template, do a “save as” if you haven’t already done so. 2. The element in this example is the Name Box. Select the Name Box layer. 3. Double click on the color box in the Name Box layer. 4. This will bring up the color picker. Choose your color, click OK. 5. To change the size of the Name Box, click once on the shape box in that layer. 6. Use Free Transform by the keystroke “Apple-T” (Control-T) and drag the corners to grow or shrink the shape. Use the shift key to constrain the proportions of the shape. “Enter” (Return) when you are done, to set the transformation. IMAGE BORDER CUSTOMIZATION 1. Open your Limberdog template, do a “save as” if you haven’t already done so. 2. On the Image Layer in the layers palette, select the “Stroke” layer. This will open the Stroke Dialog Box. 3. Click on the “Color:” box to bring up the color picker. 4. Select your color, click OK. 5. To change the with of the border, follow the steps above and under the “Structure” area in the Stroke Dialog Box, there is a slider for “Size”. Enter a new pixel width here. CHANGING IMAGE SPACE SIZE OR SHAPE 1. Open your Limberdog template, do a “save as” if you haven’t already done so. 2. Select the Image layer in the layers palette. 3. Click on the Shape Box on the Image layer. 4. Using Free Transform “Apple-T” (Control-T) drag the corners til you get your desired shape. Use the shift key to constrain proportions. “Enter” (Return) when you are done. USING YOUR LAB’S TEMPLATES 1. Open your final-version, flattened, RGB Limberdog template. 2. Select all, then copy 3. Open your lab’s template, do a “save as”. 4. Paste the Limberdog template onto the lab’s template. 5. Align the guides appropriately, if necessary. 6. Flatten, save (make sure it’s a jpeg). 7. Alternatively, you could use your flattened Limberdog template in the ROES system and zoom in or out to align the guides. This is not as accurate! 8. Check your lab’s website for their tips. |
