2006 JUNE June 21st , 2006 These
are the first photos that my new Forever Mom saw of me, even before she
met me! I had my babies to take care of then so I was a bit
dis-sheveled. But, after my babies were old enough and I was not
nursing them any more I came here to my New Mom and Dad in my forever
home. June 27th , 2006 These
are Lil-Lea's first items that I bought for her in anticipation of her
arrival . She has a LOFA DOG waiting for her and a new pink leash and
halter and a potty too. I am hoping the halter fits her. It goes from
the smallest 10" up to 14" around the girth. JULY July 12, 2006 Rick
picked up the mail today at our box around the corner and in it was a
Priority Envelope from Tammy :) (Roxie's Mom on my Pittie list) In
the package was he cutest tiny pink collar and pick Lofa Stretchy dog
<G> Thank you, Tammy, that was so very nice of you :) July 15th, 2006 Today,
our neighbor Sue and I were chatting and she asked me when Lil-Lea was
arriving. I told her 7-10 and she hang on a minute. She presented me
wit this beautiful little bed. July 23th, 2006 Today, I adopted our Little Lil-Lea (AKA Leslie) today. I spent about 1 1/2 at Judy's House getting to know Lil-Lea. What
a grand time it was. Lil-Lea was a bit shy at first, watching me close
as I talked. Then, I brought out the treat and I was her buddy after
that. Click/Treat The clicker scared her for about 2 seconds, lol
Then she realized that click meant treat and that was how fast she
learned that ! I had brought some Freeze Dried Chicken Treats along
with me that I had bought just for this day! What
a great person Judy is. I enjoyed her company very much. We seem to hit
it off right away. She took me to meet Lil-Lea's babies next. She has
three boys. They are 9 weeks old now and ready for their new forever
homes. You can see from the photos that Lil-Lea has lost interest in
them now. "NO MORE MILK KIDS! Put me down " Next,
we met all Lil-lea's extended family members and they all shared in the
treats that I had bought. Boo, is the dark little boy and he is 14 and
almost completely blind in both eyes, but he gets around just fine. I
can not for the life of me remember who is who, so I will have to have
Judy send me their names later in an E-mail :) I was the life of the
party. " Hey, Auntie Pam, how about some more of those chicken thingys! Yum! " Then,
it was time to go and as you can see from the photo above, Lil-Lea,
already had on her PRETTY PINK collar that Auntie Tammy and Cousin
Roxie had sent her. I also put her halter on her. So, we said our good
byes and into her little PINK kennel she went for the long ride home.
We stopped to visit Uncle Rusty (Rick's Brother) and my Friend Menia
who has MS and can't come visit me until I get a ramp! (another soon
to be project on my list) Daddy
came home from work around 4:00pm and he took some first photos of
Lil-Lea and I together at the computer. She is not ready to hang out
with Dad just yet though. Dad has a real *deep* voice and is rather,
well, he has a strong presence for a tiny little girl, so it will take
awhile. But, it is coming along. He got down on the floor with her and
each time he comes in and out of the kitchen, he will stop and talk to
her each time and pet her and finally, after a few hours, she now
kisses him. I
made an area on my computer table for lil-Lea to lie down.... right in
front of the printer to the left of me, uh, huh...yep...right! "Mom, I
don't like it there. I want to lie HERE! Right in front of the
keyboard! So, sigh, I have been typing with her head resting on my
*mouse hand* lol I
tried again to get her in front of the printer so I could get these
photos up lol. And this time she started noticing that the door is open
and she can see through the screen and hear and see things out there.
So, I put a towel there and voila' she likes it there now. But as you
can see from the last photo, she got *bored* We
went out for a short potty run around 7:00 and she did her thing and
then we came right back in. I picked up the little Loafa Stretchy dog
that AUNTIE TAMMY sent and boy, oh boy, did she like that! Thank you
AUNTIE TAMMY :) Unfortunately, I do not have a camera that takes
action shots (that is my next camera though) so these are blurry
because she was running around like a little nut with the dog in her
mouth and I would throw it and she would bring it back to me. She did
it until she was panting <G> TIRED DOG-HAPPY DOG <G> She
looked out the screen for aa minute and then I put her back up on the
on the table and she just went out like a light, lol It's 10:pm est
now and I am going to take her out again for the night ! END OF FIRST
DAY ! July 24th, 2006 This
is MISS PRISS after her *LUSTER* bath, BLOW DRY and COMBING What a
princess! Rick was making noises to her and telling her waht a little
Princess she is and she was cocking her head to one side, listening to
him........ lol July 28th, 2006 As
we see here Miss Diva has now taken over the left side of my desk,
along with her food and water dish. Since I have discovered that she
will squat where ever she is at any given time, she now has pants! In
these photos she is sporting her new Jean pants with her cow girl
bandana <G> We
have been working with getting Lil-Lea accustomed to her new little
area so that when I need to go somewhere without taking her, she has a
safe and secure place of her own. Here you see her sleeping in her
Queen size Diva bed (compliments of my neighbor, Sue) She
seems to like her little bed, although it took a bit to get her to want
to sleep in it. I would put her in and lie her down and tell her to
stay a few times and finally she did ! Now, when I put her in the
area, she goes right to her bed instead pf sleeping on the papers. I
try to put her in her area a few times a day so she gets used to it in
there and feels safe and so she can go potty! Eventually, I will
narrow the papers down as she leans to go on them. I think I might go
get some *real Sod* at the garden shop and put it in her potty box to
see if she will go on it! I
went to the store today to exchange some things at Pet Smart and find
her some bones and I left her here. Rick says, she yipped a bit and
whined and *eventually* she stopped after awhile when no one came to
her rescue. Rick said he picked her up when he came out to answer the
phone later on, so he tells me. But being the big mush he is, I am not
sure about that. I can’t imagine him letting her cry and yip, lol,
even though I asked him not to pick her up unless she was being quiet! She
is doing her poop on the papers. Perfect looking poop….. firm and good
color. <G. > Only dog people can discuss poop! I leave her pants
off her when she is in her area. She pees on the papers sometimes and at other times in her diaper which I keep a Kotex in. Works great! At
night she sleeps at the top of our heads, above our pillows, on pillows
we put there for her to sleep on and she moves back and forth from
Rick’s side to my side, lol Can
not get her to chew anything, other than her food! <sigh> She
eats like a bug, but like the sweet potato baby food I mixed her dry
food with. Not too much, just enough to entice her to eat and it is
working. I bought her some rib bones today and had the butcher at
Farm Fresh, cut them in three pieces as they were really way too long
for her. So far, she is not interested! <sigh> I may have to put
them in the toaster/broiler for a few minutes to bring out the flavor
and smell so she will want them. She
is definitely a *Velcro doggie* <G> and is always is right behind
me. If I leave the desk and she is there, I *always* position my chair
so she can get in it and then down to the floor! If I stay in the
kitchen, she stays, but if I leave, she follows me. Oh,
and she finally found the cat doors leading to out bedroom and our
bathroom <G> And she goes right through them, lol ……. FUNNY! She
sleeps a lot !!!!! Worries me a bit! She does love to play a couple
of times day. Yesterday she was on the floor and running around a bit
and she went and got her Lofa stretchy dog, that Aunt Tammy sent her
and brought it to me and we played fetch for about 10 minutes. ALL
IN ALL, things are going ok so far, I just need to get her to chew on
something to help her teeth and work on her potty training. As
you can see, her area is still a bit disheveled. I had just finished
moving my desk out in this area the day or so before I went to pick her
up. Hubby has to drill some holes for the cords you see hanging around
(nothing she can reach) and finish the wall in the door way to her
area. Then, I want to paper her wall and put some carpet down in
there (under the bed area) and make it look like a DIVA LIVES IN THERE
