This describes how to use and contribute to the Wiki. This is a work in progress. I have initially chosen Google.sites for ease of use but as things progress, this site may move to a more full featured site. Users
Adding Pages
The format of this Wiki is meant to mirror, as closely as possible, the actual sefer Likkutei Sichos (LS). This will allow users to reference the actual pages of the sefer .
The format of the site is listed according to each volume of LS and each Sicho is then listed as a Subpage of the volume. For Example: Volume 1 <---- This is a root page
Volume 1 - Bereshit - Sicha 1
Volume 1 - Noach Volume 1 - Lech Lecha etc Volume 2 The Root Volume page will contain information about that entire sefer much like a the introduction to each sefer. The Sicho Page Sample Page Layout Page Parts
The Title of the Sicho.
For Example: Volume 1 - Bereshit - Sicha 1
Please include the volume name in the title
Please place the entire information of the sicha in the title and top of the page The Summary information: This needs to be added at the beginning of the Sicho
Summary:
Title: Bereshit
Volume: Volume 1 Date Delivered: The date at the end of the Sicho Contributor: Your name Original Source: Date Added: Reviewer: Date Reviewed Summary: Please put any description here. FYI,In later volumes of Likkutei Sichos there is a description of the sicho in the Table of Contents. The Hebrew Text
The Hebrew and English sections are a table with 2 columns – Right side for the Hebrew, Left side for the English.
Unfortunately there are very few sites where I was able to find Hebrew/Yiddish text of the sicho. If you find the actual text copy the text into the right side of the template
If you do not have the Hebrew text, please note that all of the Sichos are on HebrewBooks.org in Jpeg Format. Copy the page from that site and create a separate separate jpeg file. ( Do not use BMP as it takes too much space.)
Do not just paste the link unless you have no other choice. We would like to keep all the pages in 1 place, so if possible, email me the page and I will store it in a centralized location and reload it from the centralized source.
The English Text
The Left side of the page is for your English translation. ( You do not have to have the Hebrew text of the Sicho before you start adding to the English Section
If you know of a site that has a translated Sicho, simply link to the website that contains the page. Ultimately we would like to copy the source ( with permission) and place it on our site since it may happen that the original website is discontinued etc. |
