January 10, 2010 Introduction to LifeSPAN

posted Dec 20, 2009 12:50 PM by Michele Aoki   [ updated Jan 7, 2010 7:21 PM ]
We invite you to attend a free one-hour session held regularly to talk about LifeSPAN and our approach to building relationships in the community. You will have an opportunity to speak with members of LifeSPAN who are excited about ensuring a good life for people with disabilities. You will also be able to get more information about membership in LifeSPAN, training workshops, and involvement in Networks and Facilitation.

Sessions are generally scheduled on a Sunday each month at Jackson Place Cohousing 800 Hiawatha Place S. Seattle, WA 98144, one block East of Rainier Ave, at Dearborn. If you have questions, call Kathy Sellars at (206) 522-3099 or email michele@lifespan-wa.org.

The next session will be held Sunday: January 10, 2010 from 3-4 pm.

For a summary handout with the driving directions, print: Introduction to LifeSPAN Flyer (PDF).

Special Topic this Month!

During the session this month we'll spend some time talking about transitions -- such as the one our family is going through. It's not an overnight process, but each year Michele's mom, Kathy, has taken steps to involve Michele more and more in the important activities that are part of the yearly cycle in Michele's sister's life. It is comforting for Michele to feel that she'll know what needs to be done in future years.

Feel free to bring your questions about transitions and how to manage them gracefully.
