Welcome to LifeLine!

Read below to learn how to navigate the electronic newsletter.

The blog format allows you to search our archives easily. You may give us feedback in one of three ways:

1. Post a comment about an article by clicking “comments” found below each story.
2. Vote for a reaction to the article by choosing either “interesting,” "provocative" or “cool.”
3. You may send us an e-mail to Lifeline.EditorInChief@gmail.com

We encourage your feedback as we use these features to find out what you, the reader, prefer in your newsletter.  With that, we invite you to read a new edition every fourth week of the academic quarters.

As an online portal, we have been able to create various tools to divulge information and invite you to check the site often to review new features and updated calendar. Below the articles, you will find an online calendar that will keep you updated regarding important deadlines and events happening in the Program of Nursing Science. Also, you may also send us your event information and we will be happy to post it.

With any online venture, it is important to know how to navigate the site. The following information will reveal additional tools we have been able to establish for your convenience. You will find our contact information at the top of the right margin.  Just click on “View my complete profile” and then click on “My web page” to see your newsletter staff.  Sending an email to us is easy.  Simply include the name of the person who you would like the e-mail to reach in the subject line and send it to LifeLine.EditorInChief@gmail.com.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Below our information, you will find the blog archive. If you happen to miss our last edition, click on the month it was released and, voila, instant delivery!  It’s like being in a time capsule without having to pay for the gas.  Fast forward to today to read about current research news under, “Mosby’s Nursing Top Stories.”  This links you directly to current findings as published via Mosby’s Nursing Consult.  Be sure to have a connection to the UCI library (via VPN) to be able to read the entire article. Checking in to read these stories every day gives you the knowledge to speak to current issues in nursing practice as these stories are updated daily.

Following this section, there is another group of links that we hope you will find helpful in your professional development.  Under “Professional Organizations,” you will find the organizations responsible for nursing scope and practice.  “Health Organizations” is a general list that includes organizations with reliable information that will enhance your nursing toolkit.

We feel this journal is a great opportunity to bring you resources for studying, as well.  Use the “Free Dictionary” to link you to a definition and the “Study Resources” site brings you to a page with links that you may find useful in your classes.  If you come across a web site that you find helpful in your studies, please contact us so we can add it to the list; we encourage you to help us consolidate more information.

Additionally, in case you need to get to UCI-specific sites, please visit the “UC Irvine Program in Nursing Science Links” for further information.

Our vision for the newsletter is to expand the visibility of our Program in Nursing Science on campus and off.
If you are interested in having your work published, or if you have a suggestion, or resource you would like to add to the newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Looking forward to serving you,
