Libre Livre's Principles of Web Design
Good web design is not simply technical wizardry; would that it were. Nor is it principally about artistic beauty. Web-site design is about people: your audience; capturing and keeping their attention.
Web design means thought: who do you want to attract to your site; what do you want to tell them; and what do you want them to do?
The first stage of every project is to work out what you want to say, how you want to organize that content into pages, and how you want those pages to be linked together. Libre Livre works with clients to explain the factors which will influence the choice of site plan and to map the design of their site.
The second stage of each project is to produce the first draft of page layout. For small sites it is often best if each page follows a consistent layout and it is important that this should be crisp, attractive, easy to negotiate and quick to load. Libre Livre helps our clients to decide on a page layout which reflects their business.
The third stage is site content. And here it is largely over to you. Nobody knows your business as well as you. Libre Livre offers an editing service which helps clients write clear ell written text. Websites almost invariably include pictures and photographs: Libre Livre staff are experienced photographers and can help clients by taking pictures to be used on their sites - for examples of our work visit: the Libre Livre gallery
Fourthly - maintenance. No site will last forever without needing changes: links can cease to work; pictures begin to get over familiar and most importantly your business will change and develop. Libre Livre provides clients with detailed guidance on how to maintain their site - alternatively we offer a regular maintenance service at a very competitive rate.
