Laptop Cart

Using to Laptop Cart

 

Please remember:

·       The cart is heavy. 

·       Best moved by two adults, but at least one.

·       Do not leave unattended.

 

  1. The laptop cart is signed up for on the school website.
  2. You will find the cart in the upper library media closet.
  3. The Librarian or Library Assistant will be happy to unlock the door, and answer any questions you have.
  4. Before rolling it out, remember to unplug the power supply from the wall.
  5. Close the door on the cart if it is open.  It’s safer for transporting.
  6. Feel free to use the elevator to move from the second floor.
  7. Once in your room, plug in the power supply so that any unused computers and the battery backups remain charged.
  8. Plug the network cable into any working Network port (unplug a computer from the wall to be sure), and wait a couple of minutes for the wireless device to connect (the green light on the right will come on)

 

Distribution

  1. Power supply cord needs to be unplugged and remove laptop.
  2. Always carry with two hands.

 

Powering the Laptops

  1. Press the silver power button.
  2. All laptops will automatically log in as student9.  Password is student. Laptops not logging in can use this ID and password.
  3. When it is time to log off, be sure to use the shut down menu.  Do not close laptop until the screen is black.

 

Putting Laptops back in the cart

  1. Replace laptops into the slot with the corresponding number.
  2. Slide in so that the cover faces the right and you can plug in the power supply.
  3. When all computers are returned, there should be 16, close the door and return to the library for the next user.
  4. Don't forget to plug your own computer network cable back into the wall.

 

Extended battery packs

  1. When needed, pull out of the slot and plug into the AC adaptor port on the side of the laptop.
  2. When returning the extended battery pack, push into slot and make sure the green power button is glowing.
 

Returning the Cart

  1. Return in a timely matter, remembering others are waiting to use it.
  2. When returning the cart to the library media closet, be sure to plug the cart in so that it can recharge for the next class.
