Wow ... where do I start on this one?  How about the Constitution of the United States of America?

Logically, that's a great place to start.  Sadly, though, our cowardly judiciary refuses to apply the basic standards the founders of our nation meticulously put down in ink on paper -- and also guaranteed in Missouri's constitution that the taking of private property for public use has very limited applications and requires both due process and appropriate payment.  Land grabs, tax-revenue enhancements, economic and community development, and "blight" clean up have spurred some local governments to take one person's private property and give it to another private person (or corporation).

Yes -- your house or business could be taken (for the minimum of an 'assessment' the government decides is appropriate).  Why?  More sales tax and property tax can be gained from having something other than your house or business.  The new strip mall, the new grocery store -- all rake in more revenue for the City than your house or business -- so the City decides what's best.

Of course, the best of intentions (improving the City) has the worst of results -- the destruction of personal property rights and your ability to decide what to do with your own property.

The Missouri General Assembly has failed miserably to simply pass legislation ensuring this never happens -- and also refuses to place a Constitutional Amendment on the ballot so that Missourians can speak their mind.  Why?  Cities lobby the legislature to NOT do it -- they want to preserve their ability to do what they want with your property -- so long as tax revenue increases.  Sad?  Of course it is -- want to help get it fixed?  YOU CANNOT KEEP VOTING the same way you have always voted -- restore YOUR rights, YOUR heritage, and protect YOUR property by voting for the ONLY candidate in this race who VOWS TO VOTE TO PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY and say NO to cities and other governments who prefer more money in the bank to protecting YOUR RIGHT TO PROPERTY.
