Add up all the "incentives" and "bail outs" and whatever else they are calling taking OUR tax dollars and giving them to business who are ineffective, inefficient, unproductive, unprofitable, too risky, and utter failures -- it's not $700,000,000,000, it's closer to $2,300,000,000,000 ($2.3 TRILLION) ... with no end in sight. Now, government who is not a good steward of our tax dollars to begin with, are now part owners in insurance companies, banks, financial services companies, and the auto industry. Comfortable with all that? Republicans and Democrats alike have regulated and taxed our economy to near death. For the future, both propose still more regulations. For the present, they continue to bail out poorly managed businesses and they artificially inflate or depress interest rates to suit their immediate political desires. Libertarians have repeatedly said enough is enough. No more bailouts, no more taxpayer funded subsidies and no more regulations on the free markets that have in the past served this great nation. But have you noticed that the media continues to almost totally ignore the Libertarian message of less government, lower taxes and more freedom? What else is the mainstream press ignoring about the Libertarian message? TAXES! Taxes gobble up a huge amount of American productivity -- think of your paycheck, your real estate property taxes, your car taxes, personal property taxes, state and local sales taxes, franchise fees and taxes, line charges, extra fees, excise taxes, community improvement district taxes, transportation improvement district taxes ... do you pay enough yet? If you take the time to add up how much is ripped from your paycheck and wallet every month it might just shock you at just how much of your money goes up in smoke in taxes. Taxes fund the hungry machines of lobbyists, career politicians, and bureaucrats in Jefferson City and Washington -- send them a message and vote Libertarian. So, what's in store for us in Jefferson City and Washington DC? More taxes, more spending, more regulation, more bail-outs, more government involvement and interference in our business and personal lives, more "pre-emptive" and expensive wars, prolonged costly conflict in places we should not be ... we must stop sacrificing American fighting men and women upon the altar of this government's shortsightedness and inability to extract us from "entangling alliances." George Washington's warning of avoiding entangling alliances echoes more loudly now than ever before -- will we hear it?
