We believe in complete cost transparency for our students. To assist all concerned in assessing the likely cost of training we have put together this guide. Some items are compulsory, such as the annual licence, but others are completely optional. We hope that this information will encourage participation with us but please do contact us if you have any particular queries not answered here. Membership and Classes We remain firm in our belief that we need not make annual membership charges for our students. The only regular cost we make is for the classes attended. Those costs vary, though, depending on the club attended due to differing overheads: Boston Club Students aged under 16 years: £3.50 per session Students aged 16 years and over: £4.50 per session Helpringham Club Students aged under 16 years: £3.00 per session Students aged 16 years and over: £4.00 per session RAF Cranwell Club A voluntary donation of £1.00 is kindly requested All our classes last for two hours and we feel the weekly subscription represents excellent value for money. | Student Uniform

Annual AMA Licence (Compulsory) Every student must have a valid AMA licence to participate in Lai-Ga-Sau Kung Fu.
First Licence: £22.00 (includes record book and uniform badge)
Subsequent Licences: £20.00
Replacement Record Books: £1.50

Gradings To progress through the grades of Lai-Ga-Sau Kung Fu it is necessary for students (and instructors) to undergo periodic gradings. These are generally held three times a year for students.
For the successful student the cost of the grading includes a new silk or satin sash and a certificate
White to Brown Sash (inclusive): £15.00 per grading
Black Sash gradings: On application
Any student not passing the grading on the first attempt will be offered a re-grading to take place three weeks after the main event. A re-grading is currently free of charge
Protective Sparring Equipment (Optional) We encourage students to put theory into practice with sparring sessions with their classmates. This can only be carried-out successfully if sparring equipment is readily available. Lai-Ga-Sau Kung Fu is a 'Not For Profit' organisation and so is not able to supply sparring equipment for all its students. We urge students to purchase their own set of protective equipment and offer the full package for £60 (saving £13.00)

Kung Fu Broadsword (Optional)
Not required by novice grades, the Broadsword is perhaps the most powerful symbol of our Chinese martial art. Complete with traditional ribbon and a wooden scabbard, this weapon is a work of art in itself.
