Reparative Therapy/Can someone become 'ungay'?

There are people who believe that people can be "cured" of being gay. There are different types of therapy, such as in the links provided, that have been "proven" by experts to cure gay people. Many people who actually claim that they can help "cure" homosexuality usually have no psychological background and claim they should be able to cure homosexuality because they are religious or have medical degrees. Some would say the idea of reparative therapy is clearly a myth because people do not choose to be gay, they have feelings for the same sex and cannot change it by attending therapy. The idea of reparative therapy also re-enforces the idea that being heterosexual is the ideal way of living.
