Las Vegas Petanque players play on various Saturdays at Sunset Park and every Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Bruce Trent Park in Las Vegas . Players of all ages and levels are welcome. Our matches are friendly, competitive, and highly enjoyable. There are picnic tables, shady areas, playgrounds for children, bathroom facilities as well as bar-b-que pits. Sunset Park is located at 2601 East Sunset Road, Las Vegas, Nevada (near McCarran Airport) Enter from Eastern Avenue and follow the paved parking lot to the gravel parking lot. The courts are just east of gravel parking lot surrounded by some tall palm trees. Bruce Trent Park is located on the corner of North Rampart and Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada. It can be reached by taking the Summerlin Parkway and taking the Rampart exit heading North. Pétanque (pronounced [pe.tɑ̃k] in French) is a form of boules where the goal is, while standing with the feet together in a small circle, to throw metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet (jack). The game is normally played on hard dirt or gravel, but can also be played on grass or other surfaces. Sandy beaches are not suitable. Similar games are bocce and bowls.
