Therefore, I urge you, sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of worship. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in order to know God's good, pleasing and perfect will for your life. Romans 12:1,2

Dear Sisters in Christ,
When I was growing up it was common practice to call each other sister and brother. It was Sister Dixon or Brother Lockard. I miss those titles. I loved that it was respectful and served as a reminder that in Christ we truly are all related. I have 2 sisters, whom I love dearly, though that wasn’t always the case growing up. When we have news, good or bad, we call each other. When one is hurting we all cry together. When we go to lunch we share each others food, especially dessert! At times we are honest with each other, sometimes brutally honest, when one of us needed to be reminded to shape up.
It is our hope that the ladies of LFMC (Lawrence Free Methodist Church) will grow to feel that way about each other. If one of us is missing another will check on her. If one of us is sick others will help take care of her. Paul wrote in Romans 12:5 “so in Christ we who are many form one body”. This is one of the greatest benefits of having a church home. My birth sisters both live in another state but God has given me many sisters here in Lawrence that I love dearly.
I invite each woman who attends LFMC to make the effort to get connected, whether it is in a Bible study, knitting class or a special event. Iron sharpens iron and we need each other to become all that God intends us to be.
Hope to see you soon sis,
Love Sister Kathy
