DIFFERENTIATION IN THE REGULAR CLASSROOM In seventh grade differentiated curriculum occurs through class placement in math and through differentiated instruction by classroom teachers. Please see the PowerPoint presentation attached below (Have They ACED the Curriculum?). The social studies sequence in Lexington City Schools is one year ahead of many school districts in Virginia. All of our 7th grade students take Civics, which is the eighth grade social studies course in many districts. This allows students the opportunity to earn a high school credit in World History in eighth grade. Foreign language offerings are also an excellent choice for students who have been identified as gifted in language arts (humanities). Some seventh grade students have chosen to participate in the INDEPENDENT SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT as an enrichment of the standard curriculum. All eighth grade students are required to do a Science Fair project, but participation by sixth and seventh graders is optional.
