Staff Information Technologist (April 2002 - February 2009)

Responsible for the systems development and support for the Business Group.

Develops modifications and improvements to existing systems as well as design and implement new applications that will increase data access, timeliness and improve productivity through the use of computer tools.

Achievements:

  • Set up the Automated Timekeeping System for OSPI.  The system increased productivity by eliminating the need for group data encoders in the old exception-based system.  This facilitated the full outsourcing of the entire Payroll System.
  • Designed the Checkbook Tool System for the GM Staff Managers as a tool to review and better manage their departmental expenses.  This tool was created to address yearly losses in expenses amounting to USD 2M.  Prepared the training package and successfully conducted hands-on training to the General Manager and his Staff.
  • Project-managed the installation and implementation of KNet software for KNS Maxum Wire Bonders with wireless barcode reader as input device.  Prepared training materials and trained engineers, technicians and operators in the production area, as well as the DL trainers from HR.
  • Designed and developed a BrioQuery (ver.6) software training package for all users.  Conducted comprehensive training and certification sessions company-wide.  This is the only IT training ever to be accepted as an official course in the company’s training center.

Technical Staff Engineer (October 1997 – April 2002)

Responsible for the systems development and support for the Finance and Materials Departments.

Achievements:

  • Designed and developed an automated system – EDIFICE which accelerated the company’s payment process for incoming freight.  The automatic freight charges resulted in virtually error-free processing for both Accounts Payable and Shipping.   Prepared training materials and conducted systems training to Finance and Shipping personnel.

MOTOROLA PHILIPPINES INC., Paranaque, Metro Manila, Phils.

Finance Systems Analyst II (March 1995 – October 1997)

Responsible for the systems development and support for the Finance Department. 

Achievements:

  • Automated various reporting procedures for submitting financial reports to government agencies (BOI, BIR) by developing pc and mainframe applications that extract financial data from existing cost accounting databases.
  • Developed local payments system called SPEED that automates the manual functions of Accounts Payable like autopayment to vendors via direct bank credits and automated check printing.  This project reduced total cycle time by as much as 60%.

Finance Systems Analyst I (January 1990 – March 1995)

Assists Finance Management in identifying areas of productivity improvement through the use of computer tools, identification and proper use of hardware and software for both mainframe and pc applications.

Trains Finance personnel in the use of Finance Systems, supplementary applications, and personal computers.

Achievements:

  • Designed and developed the Accounts Payable Bank Reconciliation system which eliminated manual efforts and decreased time to reconcile checks from 5 to 2 days per month.
  • Developed the Finance Record Retention system with design documents and user manuals from the Guadalajara factory in Mexico.  Successfully translated the design documents from Spanish to English prior to system development.  The final developed system has been fanned-out to the rest of the Asia Pacific factories.

NIXDORF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER, Makati City, Phils.

Systems Analyst (February 1989 – December 1989)

Develops tools written in C language for Nixdorf’s ATM’s in the Manila operations.

Assists in the set up, installation and testing of automated teller machines (ATM) at client sites.

Achievements:

  • Developed tools written in C for the United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) ATM installation project.
  • Evaluated and formally documented the SOP (Service Operating Panel) with systems manuals written in German.  The successful translation of these manuals to English led to  the standardization of ATM documentation locally.

AMKOR ANAM PILIPINAS INC. (formerly Advanced Micro Devices Phils.), Muntinlupa City, Phils.

Analyst Programmer (August 1985 – February 1989)

Responsible for the systems development of the company’s manufacturing groups.  Scope of applications included Production, Quality Control and Maintenance Engineering systems.

Achievements:

  • Eliminated costs associated with 6 hours daily overtime rendered by all production supervisors by providing them with computer generated Daily Attendance Exception reports.
  • Prepared a course syllabus and conducted Lotus 123 classes for co-programmers and department end users.  Conducted certification programs to end users on PC packages like Lotus, Easywriter and Flowchart.
  • Developed successful training techniques on PC packages which has resulted in increased productivity for Quality Control clerks.

Junior Industrial Engineer (February 1984 – August 1985)

Conducts Time and Motion studies for establishing UPH standards for all production work stations.

Drafts floor layouts in the production assembly area.

Achievements:

  • Established UPH standards from Front-of-Line to End-of-Line.
