The MASC Annual Convention will be held March 30 - April
1. The information packet and necessary forms are now under "Files and
Forms". All forms are due to Mr. Smith no later than February 23. |

Be sure check the SCA powerpoints under "Files and Forms" to get all the information needed! GA members should actively be checking their email to ensure all information is received! |

As we begin 2011, SMASC is accepting applications for the position of Student Member of the Board. Applications are due January 12th and are available in "Files & Forms"
The SMASC General Assembly meeting is on Thursday, January 20th at Great Mills. Forms are due by the 18th to Mr. Smith. Remember, you must attend at least 1 GA meeting during the school year. Any additional attendances are counted as events.
The Maryland Association of Student Councils Legislative Session is on February 5. Forms are in "Files & Forms." At Legislative Session (also known as Leg Session), students vote on action items proposed by MASC and the Regions. Additionally, voting for State SMOB occurs at Leg Session. |

Parking Space Raffle:
Next week SCA will be raffling some A-lot parking spaces to
students to use for ONE WEEK (Open to eligible students, regardless of
if you have a parking permit or not! If you have one in B, don't have a
spot, or just want to take Mr. O'Neills spot for a week you can!) We need help selling raffle tickets! We'll be
selling during lunches and before school in the lobby (to target kids
who drive to school) so if you're intersted in selling let us know!
Selling once will count for an event!

Help sell pizzas and desserts to support Harvest for the Hungry! Selling 3 ITEMS will count as ONE EVENT. Selling 5 items will count for TWO EVENTS. SO
SELL SELL SELL! Information packets are available with all history
teachers!! Ask your neighbors, your dance instructor, and make your
parents take it to work! There are selling incentives (free cookies
anyone?) on the information packets!
Can Donations:
We are extending this event until November 3! Bring in 10 food items in a bag labeled with your name and grade (so we can count it for the Spirit Stick!), and it will count as an event! If you bring in another bag, it'll be another event (maximum 2 events!)
Pep Rally: On November 5, we will need help
setting up for the Pep Rally! Come out to the field during your lunch to
help us finish up and earn and event! Or, stay after-school November 5 and help us clean up and earn an event! |

The Homecoming Dance is still on for this Saturday, October 2 from 8-11PM at Leonardtown High School. Doors will open at 7:45PM.
The game against Weslake initially scheduled for October 1 has been rescheduled for Monday October 4.
The Homecoming Parade initally scheduled for September 30 will not be rescheduled. Plans are being developed to display the Class Floats eventually.
Spirit Day and the Pep Rally will be rescheduled. Plans are still being developed, but as they are finalized, students will be made aware. |

SPIRIT WEEK STARTS MONDAY SEPT. 27!
The Spirit Days are as follows:
Monday- Character Day. Students are to dress up as their favorite comic, movie, TV, book, etc character!
Tuesday- Time Travel Tuesday. Bring back disco or head to the future!
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday. Clashing colors and tacky sweaters!
Thursday- Season Day! Students should represent their grade's theme!
Seniors: Fall
Juniors: Winter
Sophomores: Summer
Freshmen: Spring
Friday- SPIRIT DAY! Represent Leonardtown High School for the PEP RALLY!
Students are remined that the dress code is still in effect and that their faces should be recognizable for school security.

Homecoming Dance tickets are still available! Tickets will continue to be sold week during lunches by the school bank for $10 a ticket.
Students bringing out of school guests must present a completed "LHS Dance Guest Form" before purchasing a ticket, and all guests must be at least in High School and no older than 20. No student may purchase a ticket if they are on the debt list.
Tickets will be sold until sold out, so do not delay. Tickets will sell out.
A few Courtesy Pass Tickets are still available. Come between 7:30 AM and the start of classes to pick one up! Bring your courtesy pass with you!

SUPPORT HARVEST FOR THE HUNGRY! Harvest is a proud tradition of LHS, where students raise money and nonperishable food to donate to the SOMD Food Bank!
Students can help their class win the 2010 Spirit Stick by donating money and food through their Social Studies Classes. No donation is too small! Even a dollar can buy the Food Bank 3lbs of food.
