This website is the continuation and development of my blog - Blog of Lema Nal: Mind Control and Religion: Mind Control (Thought Reform, Coercive Persuasion) and Spiritual Abuse versus Spiritual Experience and Growth. I decided to start this site because sites provide more functionality and more convenient way for reading materials. In this site, I publish some materials that were previously published in my blog. I put them in more orderly way and include all the pages into the navigation bar. I think it will be easier to find materials in this site and more convenient to use them than in my blog. Of course, blogs have their own advantages - it is easier to add new posts to them and more convenient to read the new posts. Blogs also provide an opportunity to discuss posts. So, I continue my blog also. In my site, I am going to focus more on the recovery and not on the other things. I want this site to be helpful for ex-members of abusive churches and cults. In my opinion, ex-members of these groups need both spiritual and psychological recovery. Some people emphasize psychological recovery and neglect spiritual recovery. Some do the opposite. I think both are needed, and I will try to keep a balance. I started this site with publishing materials on biblical interpretation and Bible study that were previously published in my blog. Many ex-members of Bible-based cults (abusive churches and cults of Christianity) search for spirituality. They do not want to become unbelievers. However, since Bible-based cults have many unbiblical teachings (regarding authority and submission, consecration, and so on), ex-members of these groups need a key to discern biblical teachings from unbiblical teachings. For that, they need to know how to interpret the Bible and how to study it. There are some issues in the psychological recovery. In this area, there are some common mistakes and misunderstandings. So, I published some materials on this subject from my blog here.
