" It was through the Blessed Virgin Mary that Jesus came into the world, and it is also through her that he must reign in the world." Saint Louis de Montfort, from True Devotion to Mary

The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co-operation, under ecclesiastical guidance, in Mary's and the Church's Evangelizing work of crushing the head of the serpent and advancing the reign of Christ.

Our Official Handbook by Frank Duff

This is a commentary on the formal promise made by the Legionary of Mary at his consecration. It is designed to give a fuller understanding of the great pledge by which he voluntarily bound himself.

On Behalf of the Cause of Frank Duff

July 2009

Dear legionaries

This letter comes to give you a short update on how the work on the Cause of the Servant of God Frank Duff has been progressing. All 33,000 letter (written by Frank Duff) have been transferred on to computer and are under consideration now by the Historical Commission of the Dublin Archdiocese. The members of the Theological Commission have presented their assessments.

All Frank Duff's writings, talks etc. have been collected. The work of the Tribunal itself is almost complete. The aim of the Archbishop's delegate is to have everything in place by the end of this year.

One aspect which would be of assistance to the Cause is to show the widespread devotion of legionaries and the general public to the Servant of God throughout the world. We are requesting you to forward to the Concilium :

12 copies of the Frank Duff Prayer Leaflet in all the languages  in which it has been translated and is used in your country. For example in many countries local languages and dialects are used and our hope is that the leaflet is available in all those languages and dialects.

We would appreciate if you would mark the name of the language on 1 copy and attach to it the other 11 copies. We would be truly delighted to see a large array of languages so that these can be forwarded to Rome as part of the paperwork for the Cause

On behalf of those of us working on the Cause of our founder I take this opportunity to say that we hope that you are receiving news back from legionaries and the general public on favours received

as a result of praying to Frank Duff. We would be glad to know of the favours reported - again for possible inclusion with the paperwork for the Cause.

You will also know that for any Cause to progress there is a requirement of a miracle to have taken place. Should you be aware of any unusual  medical case which the person now in good health is attributing to Frank Duff we would be glad to hear from the person and have a copy of medical records, x-rays and such like forwarded to the Concilium for further consideration by the Medical experts appointed for that purpose.

Looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
