The Beginngs of the Franco-American Colony in Woonsocket, Rhode Island by Marie Louise Bonier

Marie Louise Bonier's
book is of particular significance to Rhode Islanders, especially to Woonsocket natives and the inhabitants of the Blackstone Valley, but it will prove to be of great interest to all those whose roots lie deep in Franco-American history.

It is a veritable mother lode of information.  Its pages contain a section on local early American hstory as well as genealogical tables of the first 117 French speaking families who settled in Woonsocket.  The last part includes a description of Franco-American institutions and the personal accomplishments of outstanding members of the group.

Available from The American French Genealogical Society.

Cost:  $20 + 10% for postage and handling
