Dear LHS Family, Friends & Alumni,   

Welcome to the 2006-2007 Langley Saxon athletic season and the Langley Boosters Membership Drive kick-off.

Langley High School maintains a longstanding tradition of providing exceptional academic programs for our students.  LHS extends this pursuit of excellence with opportunities for our students to enhance their high school experience through participation in athletic activities. 

Many of you may not realize that the Fairfax County School District only pays for officials, coach stipends, and buses for these activities!  To help our teams practice in decent conditions and compete, the Langley Boosters last year provided over $110,000 directly to the teams.

Membership grants by the Langley Boosters in 2005-2006 included funds for maintaining the athletic fields, the softball field renovation, a track and field timing system and uniforms and equipment for boys’ and girls’ basketball, field hockey, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and the list goes on.

The principal means of fund-raising for the Langley Boosters is through memberships.  The Boosters also raise money through fundraisers such as raffles and golf tournaments and merchandise and concession sales.  Our 2006-2007 membership goal is to raise $150,000 for our athletic programs.
