We are a non-profit organization serving gardeners in greater Lebanon. Our goals are — Promote & encourage the art of gardening & the study of horticulture; Aid in the protection & conservation of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers & natural resources; Promote civic beauty & roadside improvements; & Cooperate with other agencies interested in these projects.

 Entries will be received from 9:30AM to 10:30AM on Monday, May 21, 2012.

Materials arriving after this time will be paced for “exhibit only”. All entries will be checked in at the entry table. Judging will begin at 10:30AM; 11:00AM refreshments; 11:30AM meeting; 12:30PM judges critique and meeting wrap up. Judging decisions will be based on the condition and form at the tine of judging and are final. Exhibits may be removed following the closure of the meeting. Any amateur gardener and or arranger may enter this show. The Standard System of Awarding will be used with blue, red, and yellow ribbons presented. The top exhibit in each Division will be chosen. “Spring Daze” is a fun to learn show for everyone. The show will be open to the public during the duration of the Lebanon Garden Club meeting.

A. HORTICULATLUAL DIVISION

 

  • All entries in this division MUST be fresh grown by the exhibitor.                                            
  • All entries are to be correctly labeled by genus, species, and/or variety. Common names may also be given. Only correctly named exhibits are eligible for Top NGC Awards.
  • Exhibitor may make more than one entry per class or sub-class if each is a different variety or color.
  • Specimens should not have foliage below water level.
  • Containers and wedging material (plastic wrap) furnished, except for:                                          Class 13 - Violacese (Viola) and Class 30 - Violacese (Pansy).
  • Classification Chair has the authority to sub-divide classes, if necessary.
  • Fresh plant material may never be treated with oil or color.
  • Unattached foliage is never exhibited with a bloom. Only foliage naturally grown on specimen and still attached is permitted in a Standard Flower Show.
  • Potted plants and Terrariums and Dish Gardens must be in  possession for at least six months prior to show.
  • Exhibitors shall supply their own clear bottle or container for cut horticulture and all plants and containers must be disease, pest and soil free except for Terrariums and Dish Gardens.

B. ARTISTIC DESIGN DIVISION

 

  • No artificial flowers, foliage, fruits or vegetables are permitted. 
  • Fresh plant material must never be treated.
  • There must be some fresh plant material used in every exhibit, except as noted.
  • An exhibitor may enter as many classes as desired, but only one exhibit per class.
  • Landscapes or scenes are not permitted.
  • No backgrounds allowed unless stated in Schedule. Draping and accessories are permitted.
  • Design place allotted is approximately 24"X24". Designs will be placed on a table and may be viewed from all sides unless schedule states otherwise.
  • Any amateur arranger may compete in this show.
