Why "Leaky Tankard"?  

A long long time ago, I was trying to come up with an email address in an overpopulated free email service (Yahoo) and all references to my greatest passions were taken.  Coffee, writing, art, hiking, mountaineering, even ice hockey were attempted.  But all sidewise attempts to link my name to something I gave a damn about were for naught.

So what's a fella' to do? 

I was drinking coffee at the time - much as I am now - and I am clumsy.  Scaldedhand, cursedcup, and leakycoffeemug were all taken.  Lo & behold, there was a thesaurus close at hand and thereby we arrived at... "Leaky Tankard" and the rest - as they say - is coffeestained history.

 Yes, I am a participant in various historical reenactment activities, (which you can read about by going here) but really, it all boiled down to hot coffee, access to a veritable potpourri of synonyms for 'mug' and an overstocked free email service.

And they lived happily ever after... the end.
