Reed Criddle, director Originally from Piedmont, California, Reed Criddle is a doctoral student in Choral Conducting at the University of Michigan, studying with Dr. Jerry Blackstone. Reed has degrees in Music (Vocal Performance with Honors), Chinese, and East Asian Studies from Stanford University, and has most recently completed a Masters of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied conducting with Dr. William Weinert and Brad Lubman, and voice with Karen Holvik. At Eastman, Reed was awarded the Certificate in Community and College Teaching for founding and instructing a conducting course at the Eastman Community Music School. In 2007, he was selected to study conducting with Helmuth Rilling at the Oregon Bach Festival. Over the past two years, Reed has directed the Eastman Repertory Singers, the Taiwanese Choral Society of Rochester, the Rochester Mormon Choir, and was Minister of Music at the United Methodist Church of North Chili. Additionally, he has served as assistant conductor of the Eastman Women’s Chorus and the Stanford Chamber Chorale. He is currently the assistant director of the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club and is thrilled to be the newly appointed director of the Livingston County Chorale. John Beresford, accompanist John is a senior Organ Performance major at the UM. He hails from Northville, MI and is also an avid chorister and conductor, in addition to his training as a pianist/organist/harpsichordist. | John Hummel assistant-director Originally from Monroe, MI, John Hummel has just finished his bachelors in Choral Music Education at the University of Michigan and is taking a hiatus before continuing on with graduate Vocal Performance studies at Indiana University. |
