Inspired by SG Nerf, I've decided to make my own foam ballistic shield. You can visit Mod Works to see the required materials. 1. Cut off the side of the storage container, to use as view slot cover. Spray paint it black to match the tray. This is not required for Nerf games, but for lazer tag I must ensured no beam can come out from the view slot. Mine took a bit more stuff to make: 
2. Cut out view slot on the tray matching the size of your view slot cover. 3. Use glue gun to stick the slot cover to the slot (either from the outside or inside, doesn't matter.) 4. Attach drawer handle with screws, depending on the screw length you may need bolt nuts. 5. Paint your desired logo on the shield, I cut the letters from paper to use as stencil. And of course, I painted STARFLEET on the shield. Front of the shield:  Back:  Possible game ideas:1) Escort VIP, as per instruction on Hasbro's page, but in this case a member of the escort can use shield to protect VIP.2) I have a mal-functioning LTTO which only accept tags within 5 feet, it will be modded into a mounted machine gun (make it hard to move to balance for it's hard to fit flaw). The shield will be the only way to approach the MG from the front. 3) Special terrain, in which the only way to get to the other team's base is through a narrow, long trail/stairs with great ambush points. |
