We closed on our first home on July 15th and couldn't be more excited to make it "ours"
Our home was built in 1958 and is a 1.5 story cape cod style. It's about 1500 square feet- the main level has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, and an eat in kitchen. The upstairs is a 400 sf master retreat with it's own bath.
Here is the front- we love the huge trees and the brick. Not much will change out here except for more color in the planters and shutters.

Kitchen:
I have gone back and forth a million times on what to do with this room. I still have no clue.
View of Kitchen from the LR with Sellers Stuff:

Here is the kitchen with our stuff.. looove the butcher block top of the dishwasher
Also, the smallest dining area known to man. This is the one thing that sucks about our house.. no dining room and teeeny dining nook. We did get rid of this set recently and now have a black round pedestal dining set.

Living Room:
Definitely not done yet but major improvements so far:
*New Couches
*Removed the hideous 80's track lighting that was on the ceiling
*New area rug
*New digital thermostat
*All walls were patched, prepped and painted (our sellers had different colors badly painted on each wall and the ceiling was tan- what a difference painting it white has made!)... the wall color is Biscotti by Kwal- it's a bit darker in person but still pretty light- it makes the room so much brighter and more open
*New TV- we went from 26 inches to 47 inches- quite an upgrade!
Still to do:
*New lighting
*cocktail table by window
*New window that is functional and actually opens
*paint trim
(house at Christmas)
I *despise* all of the oak in our house (trim, bannister, doors) and will be updating to white
Downstairs Bathroom:
This bathroom is actually really large and the fixtures are tiny. I would like to replace the flooring in here, reglaze the tile to white (its speckled beige right now.. ewww), and replace this sink/medicine cabinet with a larger vanity.
This is sellers stuff)
Upstairs- The Master Retreat
Yay for our first "project"! We love this room- its what sold us on the house. The Master is 400 sf and the entire upper level of our house. Here are some before and afters with the sellers stuff and then ours:

(sorry for the messy bed and silly dogs!)
this nook area is now a custom built vanity that DH surprised me with for Christmas since our MB is so tiny. I am way too embarrassed to post pics of it in its current state. I have a beauty product obsession and my vanity shows it!
While our MB is huge, our master bath is teeny:
Our first "major" project was transforming our unfinished attic area (which was adjacent to our walkin closet) into a fully functional laundry room. When we bought our house there was no laundry room- instead we had a stackable w/d in what should be a pantry in the kitchen.

Some day I will take pics of the guest rooms
