Ms. Wildman served as Chair of the American Bar Association Adoption Committee from August 1991 to August 1992. During that time she initiated a resolution for the bar association urging the U.S. Congress to create benefits for adoptive families. Several parts of that resolution, including a tax credit for adoption expenses, are now available to many families.
In March 2001 and 2002, Ms. Wildman co-sponsored the first and second annual Chicago Adoption Dialogue Forum, an exchange by key faculty from Illinois universities and organization whose research on the impact of adoption policies and practices form recommendations for new directions in this field.
